Importing Your Projects From v1

Getting Started

If you had an account on the original SoundToggle (v1), you can copy your projects and audio files into your new account. The import is additive and safe to run more than once.

Do I have this? It appears automatically if you signed up for v2 with the same email address you used on v1 — that match is the only way we can connect the two accounts. If you used a different address the import won't show up; contact support and we'll take a look with you.

Where to find it:

  • Once you've finished setting up your account, a prompt appears offering to bring your v1 work over. You can start the import right there.
  • Chose "Not now"? Nothing is lost. Go to Settings → Account → Import from v1 whenever you're ready — the card stays there for good.

What comes across:

  • Each v1 playlist becomes an A/B playlist project, and each standalone v1 track becomes a single A/B project.
  • Your audio files. They copy directly between servers, so nothing re-uploads from your computer and even a large library moves quickly.
  • Your toggle labels and player colors, mapped onto v2's customization settings.

What doesn't come across:

  • Play counts and toggle counts. Imported projects start fresh at zero.
  • Any v1 track that was missing one side of its comparison. Those are skipped, and the summary tells you how many.
  • Your plan or billing. Importing changes nothing about your subscription on either side — see "Changing Plans."

Everything arrives Unlisted. Anyone with the link can listen, but nothing is added to the public showcase or indexed by search engines until you decide to make a project Public. See "Project Visibility."

Running it again is safe. The import keeps track of what it has already brought over, so a second run only picks up whatever you have added on v1 since the last one. It never creates duplicates, and if an import stops partway through, running it again simply resumes.

Your plan limits won't block it. If your v1 library is larger than your current plan allows, everything still comes across — being over your limit only stops new uploads until you free up space or upgrade. See "Storage Limits."

If it doesn't run: the card shows "v1 is temporarily unreachable" when the old system can't be contacted. Nothing is lost — wait a few minutes and try again.
