Referral rewards are issued as account credit — money off SoundToggle, not money out.
Timeline: a commission appears as *pending* when your referral pays, and becomes *available* 30 days later, once the refund window has passed. If their payment is refunded or disputed, the commission is reversed; amounts already used are deducted from future rewards.
How credit gets spent:
- If you have an active subscription, available credit is applied to your Stripe billing account automatically and pays down your upcoming invoices — you'll get an email when this happens, and you don't need to do anything.
- Otherwise, your credit is applied automatically at your next checkout, as a discount. Partial amounts carry over — a larger balance than the plan price simply keeps the remainder for next time.
The rules: credit is only ever spendable on SoundToggle. It can't be paid out, transferred, or converted to cash — switching to cash payouts later applies only to *future* referrals. Unused credit expires 24 months after it was earned.
